Handbook

This minor will enable you to explore power and energy systems, covering aspects from generation and transmission to distribution and low-voltage levels, including power customers. Given the recent trends in grid integration of renewables and low-carbon energy systems, this minor equips you with the fundamentals and principles of renewable energy resources, their system integration and management, and the utilisation of power electronics interfaces in renewable units. Additionally, you will gain knowledge and skills related to emerging utility-scale technologies, notably energy storage systems. Moreover, you will learn essential concepts and methodologies required in the design, planning and operation of emerging renewable-rich power grids.

Availability
The Power and energy systems engineering minor is available only to students enrolled in the single degree E3001 Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), except those completing the Biomedical engineering, Chemical engineering and Software engineering specialisations.
