Medical microbiology utilises a range of different teaching approaches, including active learning, case-based teaching, enquiry-based learning and online learning. Learning activities including lectures, interactive workshops and laboratory practicals which are utilised to teach advanced medical microbiology. The interactive workshops help students consolidate and apply the lecture material, which in turn is complemented by the practical component of the unit. The practical sessions are designed to teach diagnostic laboratory techniques and skills using case-based scenarios in a PC2 microbiology laboratory setting.

Where you fail the hurdle but would have otherwise achieved a mark of 45 or above you will be awarded a mark of 45 and an NH (hurdle fail) for the unit.

Where you fail the hurdle and would also have failed the unit with a mark of 44 or below, you will be awarded your mark and an N grade for the unit.
