COREQUISITE: If not already taken, you are required to complete 18 credit points of level three chemistry units. These units can be completed prior to or within the calendar year of the CHM3990 enrolment (or across two years if applicable).

PERMISSION: Written permission from the unit coordinator is required to enrol in this unit; approval is dependent on the availability of appropriate supervision and resources.

PREREQUISITE: You must have achieved a 65 average over three level-two or level-three chemistry units or with special permission from the unit coordinator.

This unit is a laboratory based and has flexible contact hours. In general it is expected that you will commit around 7 hours a week (~1 day) to research in the laboratory. How this time is committed can be discussed and developed with the supervisor. For example, some students find one solid day is best for their project, while others visit the lab on two half days.

• Six hours of laboratory work and
• Six hours of private study time per week

If doing a Laboratory based project then the following is required;
Laboratory safety glasses
Lab coat
Closed toe footwear
Notebook for taking lab notes
