Learning outcomes
Recognise and interpret sport as a cultural, economic, political and geographical phenomenon in global and urban contexts;
Critically analyse and reflect upon key issues and historiographical debates in the study of global sport, including the complex interplay between community ideals and aspirations, commercial and political concerns, development and individual concerns, and the role of the media in the development, representation and ownership of sport;
Explain theoretical debates about the process of globalisation on Australian and international sporting economies, cities and cultures;
Conduct research and construct arguments using a variety of primary and secondary sources;
Collaborate with peers and work independently to communicate research in a variety of formats and to a range of audiences.
