On successful completion of this unit, you should be able to:

describe the past, present and possible futures of a number of important world cities;
2.
explain the historical and contemporary role of cities as drivers of economic, social and cultural change, and as places of cultural interaction;
3.
identify and apply the research skills and methods of urban scholars, including urban historians;
4.
critically analyse a range of textual, visual and material urban research sources;
5.
communicate orally and in writing to specialist and lay audiences.
