The Theatre and performance studies minor focuses on developing knowledge, skills, and practices that help us understand, creatively engage, and transform the world around us.  

If you complete the Theatre and performance studies minor you will learn analytical, communication and presentation skills and practices that are valued in a wide range of industries inside and outside the performing arts. These skills include collaboration, creative problem solving, and effective communication, all highly ranked employability attributes across industries. You will also develop a practical understanding of storytelling, role-playing, empathy, improvisation, team reliance and resilience, also sought-after skills in the 21st century workplace.  At the same time you will develop a deep understanding of performance making and critical theory, giving you the structure, language, and practice necessary to develop your own creative works.
