Handbook

The Health humanities minor will provide you with a strong grounding in the core concepts and principles of the health humanities, and will be valuable for students interested in pursuing a career in health, public policy, or the sciences. You will develop an understanding of the relationship between knowledge and power. You will consider the social construction of drugs and drug use, health, wellness, disease, and critically analyse how this is refracted through questions of class, race and gender.

This minor does not lead to a career as clinical practitioner or public health professional. Rather, it offers a critical perspective on health through the analytical and methodological tools of the humanities and social sciences.
