In this unit, you can expect to be further grounded in theory and practice that are invaluable for analysis. The modules covered in this unit include:
(i) Introduction to basic programming for data manipulation and visualisation
(ii) Quantitative analysis using multiple linear regression
(iii) Modelling based on case studies using real data.

Learning outcomes

On successful completion of this unit, you should be able to:

select and describe data wrangling techniques to improve data quality in data business analysis projects

compare and differentiate various visualisation techniques to identify the most effective method for data exploration in specific business scenarios

analyse and Evaluate the results of exploratory data analysis and visualization to identify patterns and relationships in real-world datasets

evaluate and compare various problem-solving approaches specifically tailored for solving data-oriented challenges, focusing on their efficacy and applicability in business industry contexts.

Minimum total expected workload to achieve the learning outcomes for this unit is 144 hours per semester typically comprising a mixture of scheduled learning activities and independent study. Independent study may include associated readings, assessment and preparation for scheduled activities. You are expected to complete all pre-class activities prior to your scheduled class, and post-class activities should be completed after your scheduled class. Learning activities may include a combination of teacher directed, peer directed and online engagement activities.
