Coursework component
All PhD students are required to complete a minimum of 2 coursework units. Students would normally complete the following core coursework units, prior to confirmation of their enrolment:
In addition, the Graduate Research Program Director, in consultation with their supervisor/s, may recommend up to 4 additional units from the following list to address individual student's knowledge gaps and skill needs for their research component:
- BEX5479 Project evaluation
- BEX5650 Microeconomic theory
- BEX5660 Macroeconomic theory
- BEX6650 Research topics in advanced microeconomics
- BEX6660 Research topics in advanced macroeconomics
- Any unit offered by the Department of Economics or the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics recommended by the Graduate Research Program Director
Students may also be directed or encouraged to attend and make presentations at various forums throughout their enrolment.
