Learning outcomes
Apply thematic and content knowledge, and setting-specific knowledge in the field of specialised interpreting;
Provide LOTE-English / English-LOTE dialogue and consecutive speech interpreting in the settings of employment, housing, welfare, taxation/finance, tourism, business, medicine (working with GPs) and family violence;
Provide LOTE-English / English-LOTE sight translation;
Identify and apply basic principles of simultaneous interpreting;
Identify key areas of research in public service / community interpreting.
Interpret passages that are delivered in professional settings, and are of moderate to high levels of difficulty;
