Overview

This unit explores environmental systems as they relate to the performance of architectural design and construction. This includes application of environmental design principles to improve the sustainability of architectural design and construction performance. Analysis of environmental systems will be conducted with a focus on the relationship to design intent and on building performance as a means of addressing climate change and supporting sustainable development. A range of environmental behaviours will be explored in response to performance optimisation. Projects will be introduced to promote dialogue between this unit and Architecture design studio 6 project processes and outcomes.

- Software: Rhinoceros (CAD) and Adobe Creative suite installed via the Faculty computer Laboratories.
- Model making materials and sundries.
- Protective clothing for any excursions.
