In this unit, you will explore diverse applications of behaviour analysis in the areas such as education,
medicine, safety, health and fitness, addiction, mental health, and environmental sustainability. We will
explore how basic behavioural principles, including motivation, stimulus control, and reinforcement, can
be applied to address socially significant problems with diverse populations. You will be challenged to
think about and discuss ways to extend the reach of behaviour analysis into more diverse settings, with
varied populations. This unit primarily aligns to sections 1B and 2G of the BACBs 5 th Edition Task List.

Minimum total expected workload equals 144 hours per semester comprising:

a. Contact hours for flexible students:

12 contact hours and 3 hours equivalent of online activities over the semester or
15 hours equivalent of online activities over the semester*

b. Additional requirements (all students):

independent study to meet the minimum required hours per semester

*International students studying in Australia are not permitted to undertake this contact hour delivery
mode.
