PREREQUISITE:  VCE Units 3 and 4 Chemistry (raw study score >= 37); an ATAR >= 90, completion of CHM1051 or a high distinction grade in CHM1011

PROHIBITION: CHM1022, CHM1042

Problem-based learning will be explored in the workshops and laboratory exercises through theoretical concepts and will enable the development of relevant observation and descriptive skills, as well as communication skills.

Active learning will occur in workshops and lab sessions.

Online learning will be used to illustrate and explain concepts and to highlight links between theory and laboratory work.

If you would otherwise have passed the unit but you do not achieve at least 45% of the marks available in the laboratory practical component you will receive a Hurdle Fail (NH) grade and a mark of 45 on your transcript.

Supplementary assessment is not available for the lab practical component

If you would otherwise have passed the unit but you do not achieve at least 45% of the marks available for the end-of-semester exam you will receive a Hurdle Fail (NH) grade and a mark of 45 on your transcript.
